Game Shooting in the Scottish Borders

The Scottish Borders and surrounding countryside is just perfect for shooting of all shapes and sizes. Why not see what we can do to make your game shooting in Scotland that bit more special?

The Buccleuch is synonomous with shooting parties, muddy boots, dogs, perfectly cooked game, even bring your own back and we'll serve it up for you!!

We also offer packed lunches, as simple or as elaborate as you like, a drying room and safe gun storage.  We also welcome well behaved dogs and have a small enclosed outdoor kennel at the rear of the hotel. Braidwood Clay shooting range is ten minutes away for that essential practise and the Border Gun room is a two minute walk away.

So, we're quite prepared for shooting parties and very often there's more than one group here.  So what can you expect?...

A Warm Welcome

You can be assured of a relaxing welcome with roaring log fires on cold days back at the hotel.  Look forward to locally sourced food including plenty of fresh fish and game.  If you are staying with a party of friends, we are able to offer a private dining experience.

We can advise and help with days to suit all types of shooting parties. From pigeon, walked up rough days, driven shooting, duck and geese.

In 2009, we introduced Game Shooting Packages in association with Lammermuir Game Services at Westruther.  These have proved incredibly successful and are a great alternatvice to a driven days shooting.(Though we can help you out there too)

However, that's not all you can get in the Berwickshire hamlet of Westruther.  The area shot over extends to over 12,000 acres on the South side of the Lammermuirs offering a vast array of ground formations and habitats.  It has gained a reputation for high quality sport and a deserved place in the William Evans Good Shoot guide.  Driven days are created to your specifications at Westruther and over the years we have yet to have parties who have had nothing but the best shooting and days sport.
