Refurbishment Continues at the Buccleuch Arms Hotel. Updated March 2010

Our ongoing improvements programme continues both outside and in to make your visit even more welcoming. UPDATE June 2010

Having spent most of the “summer” outdoors, Dave, our full time handymanhas now come back inside.  We’ve builtnew planters for flowers in the car park, and painted them up in our new colourscheme as well as the new post and rails which really finish the car park offvery well indeed.

To coincide with our new branding, we have replaced all our signage atthe hotel in our new colours and brand and I hope you agree it's much smarterindeed.

Our new look courtyard has proved a hit already with customers using theSalmon Room as well as customers having bar meals and drinks outside.

UPDATE.  March 2010.

Reception area has now undergone complete refurbishment, funky horizontal stripes using Nina Campbell wallpapers and upholstery.

Some traditional maps adorning the walls as well as a modern OS map to work out where you've been or where you're going!

Refurbishment has continued on down to the restaurant where we have repainted and reworked the colours, again using Nina Campbell papers.

What next?

Well Dave is busy at the moment organising our polytunnel and greenhouses for the season where we intend to create even more than ever.  Salads, leaves, herbs, tomatoes, potatoes, rhubarb, cucumber.....

A couple of further weeks touching up in the bedrooms the Dave will begin the preliminary refurbishment of the bar so Watch this Space!!!

UPDATE 1st June 2010.

NEW HEAD CHEF Derek Weekley starts in his first day at the Buccleuch.

Very exciting times lie ahead for us here with new menus planned and restaurant menu being relaunched.  Derek has spent his life in a kitchen, holding senior positions around England, Scotland and even Wales in a variety of very high quality Hotels and restaurants.  Derek joins us from a steady stretch at The Collingwood Arms Hotel In Cornhill-on-Tweed where a major refurbishment transformed the Hotel and now holds a very worthy bar and restaurant reputation.

We wish Derek all the very best with us and really look forward to him making his mark here at the Buccleuch.

DAVE, has now started work in the bar!  Our refurbishment continues and we are giving the bar a makeover starting with the Alcove.  We will bring you photos when we can.

What they say about us...

"Billy, I would just like to thank you for a wonderful Hogmanay. I thought the personal touches i.e. letter addressed individually and the lovely scarves you gave as presents were a great idea. Also I would like to compliment you on the food, it was all very good and that your staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Good wishes to you and your family (and staff of course) for the 2009."
Mrs Mary Rose
